Surprise medical bills were throwing millions of Americans into a financial crisis.

When patients are faced with a medical emergency, their only focus should be on the immediate care they need – not the network status of their specialist or lab test. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, it was increasingly important to protect patients from surprise medical bills. Alignco partnered with the American Heart Association to launch a multi-phase digital advertising campaign to demand legislation and, in December 2020, Congress passed the No Surprises Act with strong bipartisan support.

After the passage of the No Surprises Act, alignco ran an awareness & engagement advertising campaign to reinforce the public's support for the law and the need for strong implementation of its patient protections.
